HELPING
HOMEOWNERS IN TEXAS
Altru Community, a nonprofit organization, has an altruistic vision for homeowners, aiming to assist lower income families in achieving their dream of homeownership. With the daunting cost of tens of thousands of dollars required to buy a home, Altru
Community serves as a valuable resource and support system for these families in the challenging DFW housing market.
Research shows that homeownership brings substantial social benefits, including improved parenting practices and safer communities. Real estate professionals can contribute by making donations from their fees. Join Altru Community in making homeownership possible for all families through your generous donation.
Our nonprofit organization was founded by Clara Torres in 2017. She wanted to help more people become homeowners as she realized the significant value not just for the homeowners, but for the overall community.
HOW WE STARTED
OUR MEANS
Currently, Clara is funding our project with her own real estate commissions. This includes giving grants to home buyers, as well as teaching them the ins and outs of purchasing residential properties.
SUPPORT OUR CAUSE
We started this organization as a service to the people who want to change their lives and reside in a house they can call their own. If you want to help more potential home buyers in our community, you can contact our team today.
The Home Buying Process
Educate and Research
Before you start looking, prepare yourself by educating yourself about the home buying process. Research local lenders and real estate professionals to find out what and where you can afford. Begin to make a list of what you want and assign each item a priority.
Time for the Hunt
Once you've defined your home-search criteria and budget, locate a suitable house and initiate an offer. Your real estate expert plays a vital role, aiding in contract preparation, negotiations, and beyond. Unless you pay cash, a loan is essential, and diligent collaboration with your lender is crucial due to multiple closing conditions.
Getting to Closing Day
After searching and having an offer accepted comes lots of behind the scene work from you lender and real estate professional. They will make sure you are aware of cash needed to close, among other important factors. Upon funding, you will receive your keys and you will receive a deed, transferring ownership rights to you.
Money is not the only commodity that is fun to give. We can give time, we can give our expertise, we can give our love, or simply give a smile. What does that cost? The point is, none of us can ever run out of something worthwhile to give.

The Home Selling Process
Open Home Valuation
Finding the right price for your home is a critical first step in the listing process. To do that a real estate professional should complete a Comparative Market Analysis, or CMA, comparing your home to other similar homes nearby that have recently sold.
Listing and Promotion
After you've come up with a listing price, it's time to let people know. Your real estate professional will be an essential partner. Sure, you want to put a sign in the yard, but utilizing time tested techniques as well as new and innovative methods to market your home will prove beneficial.
Closing Offers
A real estate professional will assist you in fielding offers, presenting counters and any other negotiations during closing. Be advised this is where working with a real estate professional brings you the greatest benefit. Find a professional who will advocate and specialize in getting the best deal for you.
